A lot has changed, but one thing remains the same...

First, I'll explain that there have not been many posts to this blog of late - despite our quite newsy move to Adelaide - as we have no internet connection at home as yet. Our current ISP's fees for transferring the connection seem, to us, exorbitant so we are considering our options. Hence, no internet, hence, no photos/blog posts.

We're adjusting to new life with myself (Rikki) working in Parliament House in the centre of Adelaide. I finished work in Berri last Wednesday and started work the following Wednesday, having moved in 6 days. Ouch.

I attended (in the public gallery) the swearing-in ceremony for the Legislative Council where my new "employer", The Hon. Dennis Hood MLC, was sworn in. There was a joint-sitting of the two Houses where the Governor, Marjorie Jackson, gave a speech concerning this Government's agenda for the forthcoming 4 years. The Member for Chaffey, Karlene Maywald, I think got a surprise seeing me in the upper gallery. I noted the presence behind the Labor benches of Mr Potter, who was the Labor candidate in Chaffey. Anna Baric, where were you!

Kristin is finally over her successive illnesses. A mother of a newborn finds it hard to beat or repel sickness when lacking sleep.

Joshua is settling in well without any noticeable trauma or concern about the change in geography. He starts a Friday morning a week at kindergarten next week and we spoke last night with the Principal of the school we are likely to send him to, starting in Term 2 of 2007.

Simeon has his first ailment, just a blocked nose - we are nicknaming him "snuffy" for now. He'll get over that.

The house we are living in is great, and a God-send. We are actively looking to buy a house closer to the city so that I can perhaps ride in to work.

So, much has changed - but one thing remains the same. Our faith in God and in his goodness to us. We continue to be blessed in many ways. His hand is behind our recent changes and we have faith we can cope with it all.
