Poppa Scholz ought to be proud. With a minimum of effort and a lot of recycled bath water we've managed to grow tomatoes like this one (that's Rikki's hand, not Simeon's, by the way). The scar on the left side is the splitting, a good problem to have: because it means there's been rain on the tomatoes, causing them to split! We made some of them into tomato soup tonight: mmmm yummy.
Yes, they're running late to be fruiting this time of year. We planted them late and the weather's been warm enough to make them come through. We still have some green ones, so its conceivable that we might have tomatoes like this one through to mid-to-late May. Amazing.
