SBS' Les Murray, in his latest opinion piece at The World Game website, lauds the match between Adelaide United and Newcastle Jets for entertainment and the eventual 2-2 scoreline. He compares it with the 0-0 draw witnessed by Melbourne and Sydney fans - and Les is right to be worried. That many fans deserved to see a goal, at worst a 1-1 or 2-2 draw. Kristin and I were fortunate enough (thanks EllieJordan) to go without our boys to the Reds - Jets game and therefore could watch the game the whole time - and it was action aplenty.
Apparently the 2005-2006 A-League season saw more, on average, goals-per-match than the English Premier League, Italy's Serie-A or the Spanish La Liga.
Bravo Reds for putting on a great spectacle. I for one am glad to see Kosmina has seen fit to go for more goals and less defence this time around, which has made for some entertaining football.
